Update time!

I haven't been great about updating lately because a lot has happened. I went on vacation and went to the doctor about a knee injury I sustained in early October, turns out I needed surgery. They did surgery on November 28, 2011, and took a half dollar sized chunk of cartlidge out of my leg. The same part they thought was torn, but it wasn't. It was inflamed and pushing on my knee. Ouch! I was pretty sore that week, but by Friday, surgery was Monday, I was back at work. I had to use crutches on longer walks and etc, but otherwise was walking fine. :)
I started doing physical therapy of my own almost immediately as the bandages came off. The doctor started me on my real physical therapy the week after I got the stitches out which was 3 weeks after surgery.
Stairs were a total pain in the butt for a long time, but now I can run up and down them with no problems.
I was really sick the day of Thanksgiving and wasn't able to help my Mom cook this year, nor was I even able to enjoy the food. :( But it's alright, I felt better about 3 days later). Mom understood and I was able to have some left overs once the fever and etc died down.
Christmas was quiet this year, since my parents only bought for the grandchildren we didn't do a gift exchange like usual. I don't have any kids of my own, but of course the rest of my siblings do, so I felt a tiny bit left out. But that's alright. Travis and his family spoiled me rotten like every year :)

My new year's resolution this year was simple enough but a good one. I want to lose the extra weight I put back on after my knee injury. I was doing really well with my workouts before hand, and want to continue to do well now that I have been officially released by my doctor. I started a good diet and workout routine that I have been working very hard on the last few weeks. Well the workout routine part, not the diet part. I started that two days ago and I feel a lot better already. I am calorie counting, which seems like a pain, but it is actually quite simple. I have been tracking everything manually in a journal, but will move it to here sometime this week and do both to keep more than one record. I will be combining the first week into a one or two day entry and then update *try to* daily when I can.
My goal date is March 31 to reach my ideal weight. Some can call me crazy cause I don't look like I weigh as much as I do, but I have proof. I am starting at 160 and want to be down to 135. It's 25 lbs but I can do it the right way. Watching what I eat, and exercising and lots of water :) I have cut out chocolate, bread and soda. The main factors in weight gain and I am now making healthy choices. I am happy about my plan and will be able to stick to it.

*Simple moment of the day*
I had a good moment the other night with Travis. We were out for new year's and he smiled at me, said I love you, and kissed me. Out of no where. :) It was a perfectly simple moment that made my day.

Til next time,
Remember the Simple Things in Life.
